Darick Mower, VP of Marketing officially released 21 new essential oils on May 8th during a conference call with distributors from the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and Singapore. Neways distributors and preferred customers around the world anxiously awaited the news, which had been eluded to earlier this year. Distributors were promised the 21 NEW oils were only the beginning, and that they could expect other essential oils to be released in the near future.
Basil Linalool (Ocimum basilicum)- Assists with proper function of the lungs and circulation. Hormonal in its action has been used to give feelings of rest and relaxation. Gives feelings of relief from migraines, nervous tension and nausea. Sourced in the Comoro Islands. Steam distilled from the flowering herb. Color: yellow to pale green.
Bergamot (Citrus bergamia)- Bergaptene free, and ready to enhance healthy skin. Assists the nervous, urinary, and digestive systems of the body with greater feelings of health and well-being. Historically used for fever, including malaria and worms. Sourced in Italy. Steam distilled from fruit. Blends well with lavender, orange, jasmine, cypress, geranium, lemon, chamomile, juniper and coriander. Color: pale yellowish. *Not to be confused with bee balm.
Birch (Betula lenta)- Gives feelings of relief with muscular pain, arthritis, psoriasis and eczema, and edema.
May be used in shampoos and bath gels to enhance healthy hair and skin. Sourced in the United States. *May be toxic if used in large amounts. Use with caution and moderation. Steam distilled from bark macerated in warm water. Color: colorless pale yellow or reddish tinted.
Black Pepper (Piper nigrum) - Popular for use with pain associated with neuralgia, poor circulation and muscle tone. Gives support to persons with anemia from an inactive immune system. Sourced in Madagascar. Blends well with Rose and other floral oils for the oriental fragrance industry. Used extensively in the commercial food industry. Steam distilled from the black peppercorns, dried and crushed. Color: white to pale olive.
Cardamom (Elettaria cadamomum)- May assist with the feelings brought on by anorexia, dyspepsia, flatulence, halitosis and heartburn. Used in traditional Chinese and Indian medicine for over 3,000 years. Sourced in Guatemala. *Has many of the same qualities of Nutmeg. Steam distilled from the dried ripe fruit (seeds). Color: Colorless to pale yellow.
Carrot Seed (Daucus carota) - Has been known to assist with fine lines caused by maturing skin. Used to give feelings of relief from gout, edema, accumulation of toxins, liver congestion and glandular problems. Sourced in Hungary. Steam distilled from the dried fruit (seeds). Color: yellow or amber.
Cinnamon Bark (Cinnamonum zeylanicum) - Rare and precious, the bark of the cinnamon tree has been historically used to assist with lice, warts, intestinal infections, and chills brought on by the flu. Sourced in Madagascar. Steam distilled from inner bark of tree. True cinnamon bark is becoming difficult to find in many countries. *Skin irritant if used undiluted. Blends well with ylang ylang extra and orange. Color: yellow to brownish.
Clary Sage (Salvia sclarea) - Gives feelings of relief from high blood pressure, throat infections, and skin conditions such as acne, boils, oily skin, and ulcers. Sourced in Russia. Steam distilled from the flowering tops and leaves. Blends well with juniper, lavender, cardamon, geranium, sandalwood, cedarwood, pine needle, frankincense, and citrus oils.
Clove Bud (Eugenia caryophyllata) - Assists with minor infections such as colds and flu. Used historically with symptoms associated in the respiratory system and parasites. Sourced in Madagascar. Used in major food categories and in soft drinks. Blends well with rose, lavender, clary sage, bergamot, and ylang ylang extra. Steam distilled from the buds. Color: pale yellow with a sweet-spicy scent.
Fennel (Foeniculum vulgare) - Assists with cellulite, edema, obesity, and anorexia. Has historically been to increase the milk of nursing mothers. Sourced in Spain. Blends well with geranium, lavender, rose, and sandalwood. Steam distilled from crushed seeds. Color: Colorless to pale yellow.
Ginger Root (Zingiber officinale) - Used to give feelings of relief from motion sickness, colic, cramps, indigestion, nausea, fatigue, and muscular aches and pains. Sourced in China. Steam distilled from the rhizomes. Color: greenish-yellow liquid.
Lemongrass (Cymbopogon citratus) - Pleasant grassy-lemony scent, has been used historically for stress-related conditions, fevers, headaches, and varicose veins. Sourced in Guatemala. Steam distilled from the fresh and partially dried leaves (grass) finely chopped. Color: yellow, amber, or reddish brown liquid.
Lime (Citrus aurantifolia) - May give feelings of relief from acne, boils, corns, greasy skin, herpes, insect bites and warts. Historically has been used for cellulite, high blood pressure, nosebleeds and asthma. Sourced in Mexico. Steam distilled from whole crushed fruit. Color: pale yellow to olive-green.
Marjoram Sweet (Origanum marjorana) - May give feelings of relief from constipation, flatulence, and constipation. Historically used for hypertension, insomnia, migraine pain, and stress-related conditions. Sourced in France. Steam distilled from the dried flowering herb. Color: pale yellow or amber.
Myrrh (Commiphora myrrha) - Rare and precious, historically used to assist with chapped, dry skin, and all respiratory conditions. Sourced and distilled in Somalia from the crude myrrh or gum. Color: pale yellow to amber. *May be slightly oily to the touch.
Nutmeg (Myristica fragrans) - Historically used for arthritis, gout, muscular aches and pains, poor circulation, and bacterial infection. Sourced in Indonesia. Distilled from the dried seed. Color: white or pale yellow. *Use with caution and moderation.
Ravensara (Ravensara aromatica) - May give greater feelings of strength when symptoms arise from shingles, flue, bronchitis, and viral infections. May bring feelings of relief from symptoms associated with autoimmune conditions. Balancing, yet gently effective. Sourced in Madagascar. Color: Clear with a tinge of yellow.
Rosewood (Aniba rosaeodora) - Historically used for general skin care in all types of skin. Has been used for nervous tension, frigidity, and headaches. Sourced in Brazil. Steam distilled from the wood chippings. Color: colorless to pale yellow.
Sandalwood (Santalum album) - Rare and precious, historically used for dry-persistent coughs, laryngitis and bronchitis. Has been used for cystitis, depression, and emotional addictions. One of the oldest known perfume materials with at least a 4,000-year history. Sourced in India. Steam distilled from the roots and heartwood, powdered and dried. Color: Pale yellow, greenish or brownish viscous liquid with a deep, soft, sweet-woody scent.
Thyme Serpolet (Thymus vulgaris) - May give feelings of relief from itchy skin conditions. Has been known to assist with asthma, bronchitis, sinusitis, and tonsillitis. Sourced in Hungary. Steam distilled from fresh or partially dried leaves and flowering tops. Color: Reddish or brownish.
